The beauty of Bali, and its southern tip, is that you can start your day at sunrise on the East Coast of the island, throw in a little of the lush, green middle, and wrap it up for sunset on the West Coast. Here’s a perfect Bali day for you.
Grab an early breakfast and watch the sun rise over the ocean, beachside at Luhtu’s Coffee Shop on Sanur’s Sindhu Beach. One of the best value breakfasts in town.
Stroll the paved beach path from Sindhu and watch the locals wake up. Days don’t fully get underway before 10:00am, so it’s a perfect time for a quiet walk. Stop at the luxurious Puri Santrian’s ‘Lounge by the Sea’ for a latte, iced tea and a fresh fruit platter.
A little further south on Sanur’s beach path, pop into the luxury of the five star Fairmont Sanur Beach Bali hotel and melt into a one hour, traditional Balinese massage.
Grab a driver and head to Komune Resort just 20 minutes away, and float in the beachside pool and watch the giant waves while enjoying a sumptuous lunch. Burgers are highly recommended.
Keep your driver and head to the west coast, around an hour away, and stop in at some of the more curious stores along Jl Petitenget. Check our Carga for candles, vintage posters and furnishings, and also Home Mate, with locally made furniture, as well as delicious cakes and juices (in case you’re hungry again).
It’s time to secure the best seat in the house for that magical sunset. Make your way to La Laguna, the gypsy inspired garden restaurant and select a spot under a tree so you don’t miss the action on the horizon. Partake of a cocktail or two and grab a great selfie on the bamboo bridge with the sunset as a backdrop.
Time for dinner, and nearby Sarong restaurant. Pull up a plush lounge chair and breathe in the atmosphere of fine Asian fusion, carefully prepared by famous chef, Will Meyrick and his talented team.
Get into the Bali nightlife groove at La Favella in the heart of Seminyak and rub shoulders with Bali’s hipster crowd, in a retro, jungle-like setting.
Now’s when the night really heats up. Get your dancing shoes on and join nightlife worshipers at the gothic, cathedral-like Mirror Lounge and Bar, while sipping a signature lychee martini.
Please don’t stop the music. It’s time to get serious. Pop over to the Mint Club, and sway to the rhythm until the light of the day, or you lose a shoe.
