Tell me more:
Since 1857, Flockhill Station has operated as a working sheep station spanning 36,000 acres within New Zealand's Castle Hill Basin. Nestled amidst this expansive landscape, Flockhill bears silent witness to life in the majestic Southern Alps. The property’s diverse landscape sustains vital ecosystems, with a strong commitment to environmental protection, including initiatives to minimise its footprint and raise awareness. A percentage of every revenue dollar is dedicated to biodiversity efforts.
Flockhill is overseen by the Homestead, an inviting structure of natural timber and stone that merges with its dramatic surroundings. The Homestead offers breathtaking views of Lake Pearson, Sugarloaf Peak, and Purple Hill, blurring the lines between nature and design. It provides a luxurious escape that capitalises on the natural beauty of its setting.

Why it’s one-of-a-kind:
Flockhill offers an exclusive wilderness experience where nothing feels manufactured. Its curated activities extend across the vast 36,000-acre station, providing an intimate introduction to the lodge, farm, and the land itself. The property’s deep-rooted commitment to showcasing the best of New Zealand is evident in its dining experience at its signature restaurant, Sugarloaf, where produce is primarily grown in the Flockhill garden and foraged from the surrounding land. This dedication to using a fully utilised harvest, with chefs involved in the gardening process, ensures an authentic New Zealand take on fine dining, rich in flavour, using native ingredients and nostalgic cooking techniques.

Ideal for?
Flockhill is ideally suited for multi-generational family travel, couples seeking soft adventure, and those interested in authentic experiences. It also caters to food enthusiasts and those with an interest in skiing.
