In fact, that’s one of the reasons she became a travel professional – with a list of reputable providers she knows and trusts, thrilling clients with extraordinary experiences is literally all in a day’s (very enjoyable) work.

Recently, she had clients heading to Rome as part of a European holiday. Natasha says, “They mentioned that they really wanted to go to the Vatican, but with little time to spare, weren’t keen to be caught up in big lines and queues, so maybe they’d need to give it a miss. I wanted to give them an experience that really stood out, and suggested a ‘Breakfast at the Vatican’. You have to be an early riser (6:30am start), but it allows a small group of 20 people at most, to enter the Vatican before it’s properly open and have breakfast in the inner garden. My clients were enraptured with this magical experience and told me to recommend it to everyone.”

Natasha is no stranger to special travel experiences herself. There’s one memory she treasures from her favourite destination – South Africa. She remembers, “My husband and I had travelled for 30 hours from NZ to reach Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge. The first thing we did was take a refreshing dip in our private plunge pool, then head back into our room. Then my husband turned around and pointed out an elephant had come to visit us. Sure enough, when I turned around, there was an elephant right there, drinking from our pool. I wasn’t sure whether I was hallucinating after the long hours travelling! But it was real. I went outside and talked to him (with the outdoor couch between us for safety!) for what seemed like the longest time. It was magical. There’s nothing quite like seeing wildlife free in Africa.”

As an accredited cruise specialist, Natasha also loves to help others realise how much fun you can have on a cruise – and that it’s definitely not just for older people. She says, “I love to cruise. It’s literally stress-less. Unpack just once and be as busy or relaxed as you choose, while seeing a lot of amazing destinations along the way.”
