Above all, she most enjoys helping people plan those trips where they can truly appreciate the diverse experiences and landscapes on offer.

“I recently planned a wonderful 60th birthday trip for a couple to the UK & Europe. It started with a narrow boat journey from Bath, then connected to an Iceland self-drive tour, before a 13-day French walking tour around Mont Blanc, and a tour to Mont Saint Michel from Paris. Then they finished with a relaxing six-day Canal du Midi cruise. What a way to celebrate, and I was so happy to help put everything in place.”

Fiona’s specialist areas include South America, source of some of her own personal travel highlights, which include some of that continent’s most iconic experiences. She’s climbed a mountain in the Cordillera Real Mountain Range in Bolivia – up to 5500m. She’s also trekked the classic four-day Inca Trail, finishing with waking to the sunrise over Machu Picchu in Peru. But the one that might top them all was a three-day tour of the Chilean Salt Flat, from Uyuni to San Pedro de Atacama. She says, “Seeing flamingos surviving in freezing cold temps at these altitudes was truly amazing – what a site! And the journey on the way was spectacular, too.”

However in the true spirit of travel, Fiona’s enthusiasm is certainly not limited to South America alone. She also rates Canada, California, Bali, and the Pacific Islands for family holidays, and loves to organise skiing trips to Europe, Canada and the USA.

She advises, “Embrace the experiences in every place you get a chance to travel to – life is short, so be open to learning as much as possible about different cultures and ways of life.”
