Overview

In 2003 Etihad was established to be the flag carrier airline of the United Arab Emirates. The airline’s maiden voyage flew from Etihad’s base at Abu Dhabi International Airport to Al Ain. Since then the airline has grown to a fleet of 67, flying to a total of 85 destinations across 55 countries.

In addition to its reach, Etihad prides itself on being a First Class airline, wining numerous awards including ‘World’s Best First Class ‘and World’s Leading Airline’ by Skytrax and World Travel Awards respectively.

From Australia, Etihad flies direct from Sydney and Melbourne to Abu Dhabi, with opportunities to continue on to Europe, the UK and the Middle East from there.

When flying with Etihad Airways, you can choose from Coral Economy, Pearl Business or Diamond First as well as opt to join the Etihad Guest program, where members can earn points with the airline and their affiliated partners. Points accumulated with the program can be redeemed on flights, upgrades, lounge access and items from the Etihad Rewards shop.

Check-in

When flying with Etihad Airways, you can check-in online from 24 hours up until 2 hours prior to the flight’s departure. For airport check-in, counters are open from 3 hours until 60 minutes prior to the flight. If you are flying with Diamond First Class and Pearl Business Class, you may check in up until 45 minutes prior to your flight.

When flying Pearl Business on A340-500, A340-600, and certain A330-200 and B777 aircraft, you will be privy to the airline’s full flat beds complete with privacy shells and ottomans. In addition to the comfortable and spacious seats, Etihad will also provide you with pillows, blankets and an overnight bag including Aigner skincare products.

Dining

Dining in Pearl Business economy is a delicious multi-course affair, with restaurant styled courses served alongside a choice of mains. When it’s time to quench your thirst, take advantage of the complimentary full-bar serve available onboard.

Entertainment

On your next Etihad flight, be entertainment by a myriad of movies, TV shows, music and games via the airline’s audio visual on demand entertainment system, all available to view on your 15.4 inch touch screen. Please note some aircraft will offer the Panasonic eX2 entertainment system instead.

Etihad Airways allows Pearl Business passengers to bring 1 piece of 12kg hand luggage, 2 pieces of 32kg (each) checked baggage for flights to North America and 1 piece of 30kg checked baggage for flights to all other destinations.

 

Diamond First

Comfort

Experience comfort in the sky in Etihad’s Diamond First Class cabin, where long haul flights offer private suits containing 6 foot 8 inches flat beds, wardrobe storage and personal mini bars. Stretch out and get some sleep with the airline’s provided pillows, blankets, cotton sheets and sleeper suits. Swarovski designed amenity kits are also available.

Dining

In Diamond First, you are given the freedom to dine when you like. Simply make your selection from the extensive á la carte or 'Kitchen Anytime' menu, as well as order from the boutique wine and beverage list.

On your next Etihad flight be entertained by 650 hours worth of movies, TV shows, music and games via the airline’s audio visual on demand entertainment system, all available to view on your 23 inch private screen.

Lounges

Etihad Airways has a range of First Class and Business Class lounges located in Abu Dhabi, Dublin, Manchester, London and Frankfurt. Within the First Class lounge, Diamond First passengers can enjoy a range of luxury services and amenities including international buffet dining, complimentary Six Senses spa treatments, family rooms and quiet rooms. Passengers flying Pearl Business can visit the Business Class lounges and enjoy similar facilities such as the Six Senses spa, family rooms and five-star dining. Various Etihad Guest members may also access the lounges.
